FIFA Confederations Cup 2013: Samba stars stun La Roja

Confederations Cup 2013 winners - Brazil

Brazil showed they are still the Samba stars of football, as they brought down Spain’s La Roja back to earth with a very comfortable 3-0 win in the Confederations Cup 2013 final, held at the Estadio Do Maracanã in Brazil. Fred and Neymar were the architects of Brazil’s success, the former scoring twice (2nd minute and 47th minute), while the latter scored on the 44th minute, with a missile into the roof of Casillas’ goal, while Spain were unlucky, first Ramos sending a penalty wide of the left post, before Piqué saw red for a foul on his new Barça team-mate, Neymar, on the 68th minute, leaving his team battling on with only 10 men left, and nearly all hopes lost given Brazil were leading more than comfortably by that time.
