Manchester United end Asia Tour 2009

Manchester United ended their Asia Tour 2009 today after playing against Greentown FC of China and winning all the games of this friendly tour. The score today was 8-2 in United’s favor.

The tour started in Malaysia, with United facing a Malaysian XI selection. They won the 1st game 3-2, and due to canceling their trip to Indonesia after bomb blasts there, they rematched the Malaysian selection, and this time won 2-0. The 3rd game opposed them to South Korean team, FC Seoul, a match which they won 3-2 again, after trailing 2-1 at half-time. And the final game of the tour opposed them today to China’s Greentown FC, and for the 1st time Giggs scored a hat-trick wearing United colors. Tosic also scored his 1st goal for United, while Owen seems to be enjoying the number 7 and the faith Sir Alex has in him, he scored 2 today. Berbatov also had a very good game, he claimed 3 assists and scored 1.

Even thou these matches were only friendlies, United seem to have a problem at the back, and with the keepers as well since they did not concede in only one game.

SCORERS: Owen (4), Giggs (3), Macheda (2), Rooney (2), Berbatov (2), Nani (2), Tosic (1)

GOALS CONCEDED: Foster (3), Kuszczak (2),Van Der Sar (1)

The next outing will be against Boca Juniors for the Audi Cup, and the final match for this cup will pitch United against either Bayern Munich or AC Milan, matches to be played on 29th and 30th July, and finally a friendly with Valencia on 5th August.

  2. Hope Berba will show same display in the Premier League and that Rooney, Owen as well as others get on the scoresheet almost every game

  3. i dont remember seeing berbatov doing that to nani’s hair last night. lol. have to watch the replays again then.

the hightlight of the game for me wasnt just the goals, it was berbatov’s touches – reminded me of cantona. hopefully he can bring that sort of touches and form to the premier league.
