Rafael scoring United's 3rd vs Wigan

The Big 4 were in action for gameweek 20, starting with Chelsea on Monday, Liverpool on Tuesday, and finally United and Arsenal playing their last games respectively for 2009 yesterday night, and all 4 teams ended with wins.

United were up against Wigan last night at Old Trafford, and the Fergie babes were lit up for the match, as Rooney opened the score, followed by Carrick, Rafael, Berbatov and Valencia to secure a 5-0 win, and close the gap to 2 points on leader Chelsea and keep their hope for a fourth consecutive title alive. United’s next match will be against Leeds this weekend for the FA Cup tie again at Old Trafford.

Arsenal as well produced a brilliant performance as they went to win away at Portsmouth, 1-4, with goals from Edwardo, Nasri, Ramsey and Song for the Gunners, while the consolation for Portsmouth came from Belhadj. Arsenal are now two points behind United, but they still have a game in hand to play, which in case they win will see them move above United, and be one point adrift of Chelsea.

Liverpool for their part seemed to have found their form yet again, as this time they won away at Aston Villa, although be it an added-time winner by Torres, but it seems their confidence are growing. It was not an easy match for either team as well, due to the weather conditions being very hostile, and an almost frozen pitch to play on.

Chelsea were in action on Monday afternoon, and the Blues got a lucky win against Fulham, 2-1, with Gera opening the score for Fulham, but Drogba equalized in the second half, and minutes later an own-goal from Smalling gifted the Blues the 3 points, and eased off the pressure on a Chelsea team which may be are still having some doubts on their own capacity, as their own fans at a point of time were booing them, and it was not the fantastic style which they had shown early in the season, but a win it was for them. Chelsea will however have a dilemma  upfront, as Drogba & Kalou are leaving for the African Cup, along with Essien(injured and may be not going) and Mikel, while Anelka is out injured.

Not to forget the transfer window will open at midnight, and it is the time where rumors start to fly around about the arrivals and departures of players, so stay tuned for all the buzz!!!
