Kuyt celebrates goal over Man Utd

Liverpool have demonstrated to Manchester United how to play football in today’s game which ended some minutes ago, and may be have denied United title number 19 with their incredible win, and all credits to Suarez and Kuyt, as these two Liverpool players were too hot for United to handle them, with Kuyt netting a hat-trick to kill off the game, while Chicharito’s consolation goal in the closing seconds of added time will do only himself some good, as Rooney yet again failed to rise up to justify his 200K per week salary, and Berbatov had only one shot on target which came off the post. The title race is wide open yet again, and Arsenal must be ruing the missed opportunity against Sunderland yesterday, as a win would have put them 1 point behind United, and with a game in hand to overtake them for good, but as United lost today, Arsenal will be rubbing their hands in glee.

Liverpool were the more dominant side throughout the game, and threatened early on, but United came closest to open the score when Berbatov hit the post with a long range shot, but Liverpool were not intimidated and continued to press on. They eventually found the way to goal, as Suarez, showing his brilliant skills on the ball, got past Rafael then Brown, before sliding the ball across goal with Van Der Sar stranded, and Kuyt slotted home from close range (34th minute). United were undone again minutes later, as this time Nani headed the ball backwards inexplicably, and Kuyt headed home (39th minute). Then things got a little nasty towards the end of the half, as Carragher went into a dangerous tackle on Nani, the latter eventually injured and had to be replaced by Chicarito, and Carragher was lucky to escape with only a yellow. Then it was the turn of Rafael to do a two-footed challenge on Lucas, and things got blown out yet again as the players got in a mix-up, with Rafael taking the booking.

The second half saw Liverpool playing more on the counter, but on the other hand, it was barely the United spirit we used to know, as they took possession of the ball, but not creating any chances, and Liverpool at the other end found the net again through Kuyt, as he took full opportunity of Suarez’s spilled freekick by Van Der Sar to seal the match definitely. United eventually scored one for the honor, as Giggs cross was met by Chicharito’s header (91st minute), but it was too late, and Liverpool were already celebrating the win against the arch rival, 3-1 the score for the Reds.

A very poor performance by United, showing they are may be not title materials in the end, as it is in games like this where they should mark their footprints, but instead got booted in the ass themselves, and did not show any positive attitude to try make a comeback. Rooney fails to impress these days, I know many will come up with the goal against Man City or Chelsea (lost as well in the end), but  I believe its time a decision is taken, either he warms the bench and has a salary cut, or he’s sold the soonest possible, and United try get some players who will at least respect the shirt and give better displays. Intriguing as well how Sir Alex never made a bid on Suarez, this man impressed during the world cup, and has a very very good stats with Ajax, and was acquired I believe by Liverpool for less than 25M, a real bargain, and a quality player. Now the title race is open yet again, and I foresee Arsenal to take full opportunities to overtake United and claim it, and even may be kick United out of the FA Cup (next week is the game). This United team definitely needs a rebuilding next season, or they’ll end up out of the top 10 it seems.
