Red alert in Amsterdam as Manchester United down Ajax

Not the most stellar match for United, but the Red Devils got away with a 0-2 win over Ajax to take back home a healthy lead for the return leg of the Europa League knockout stage. United got lucky in the first half when Ferdinand appeared to have fouled Sulejmani in the box, but the ref did not give the penalty. Ashley Young scored on the 59th minute following a stray pass from Nani, and eventually, a classic counter attack led by Valencia and Rooney saw Chicharito score the second goal on the 85th minute. Ajax had several opportunities as well, but most of the times found De Gea in the way to deny them. However bad news is that Valencia, who came on as a sub himself, had to leave the field after the second goal, following an injury in the build up to the goal.
