Serenity is the key to success

Despite not giving a brilliant display of football earlier today, Manchester United kept their calm and remained in control for most of the game opposing them to QPR in London, as the Red Devils came back with a 0-2 win, and opened a temporary 15-point gap between themselves and Man City, the latter playing on Sunday. The match had a rather heavy start, and it was only after 13 minutes that a real threat was posed, as Nani rose to meet Young’s freekick, but headed wide. Taarabt responded at the other end, but not troubling De Gea. United took control from thereon, with Chicharito having a header tipped over, but on the 23rd minute, Rafael put the visitors ahead with a stunning missile from outside the box, as Cesar had initially parried RvP’s shot but could do nothing as Rafael thumped this one in. RvP then nearly doubled the lead, only for Cesar to deny him with a brilliant save. That was however his last contribution in the match, as he picked up an injury earlier, and was eventually replaced before halftime by Welbeck. Vidic also came close before halftime, but his header was just wide to trouble Cesar. The second half saw QPR looking more menacing as Remy was denied with a brilliant save from De Gea, but it was United which had the last word, as Nani set up Giggs on the 80th minute, and the veteran took 2 glances at goal before unleashing an unstoppable left foot shot past Cesar to seal the win and kill off any thoughts of a comeback from QPR. He then saw a shot looped over and hit the bar minutes later, while Samba at the other end brushed De Gea’s post as well with a header, but United held on for the win, with the only downside of the day being losing RvP to the injury, hopefully we’ll see him back in action soon.
