Manchester United’s descent to hell seems to be on the right track, as their nightmarish week continued following their exit from the CL, this time it was Chelsea which stunned Old Trafford, as they overturned a 2-0 deficit to earn a well deserved replay for the FA Cup, and to be honest they even deserved to take a win back home, but De Gea somehow denied Mata in the dying minutes to keep United in. United had made a brilliant start however, as Chicharito took full opportunity on the 5th minute as Cech strayed off his line to loop Carrick’s cross with his head into the far corner of the unfortunate keeper. Rooney, who is drawing attention these days for some wrong reasons, this time made a good impact as he curled in a freekick on the 11th minute to double the lead. But from there Chelsea gradually upped the tempo while United went back to their old habits of defending, and eventually paid the price in the second half, as Hazard found the net on the 59th minute to bring Chelsea back in the game. Chelsea looked more threatening as the minutes went by, and were rewarded by Ramires on the 68th minute as he got in the box and his low drive was too good for De Gea to keep it out. Mata then had the golden chance to win the game for Chelsea, but somehow De Gea stuck out his right foot to deflect the shot off for a corner kick. Hazard as well had a good chance to score in added time, but yet again De Gea parried it, and Evans cleared the danger before Cole could get to the loose ball, with the ref sending both teams back to the dressing room moments later for a replay match between these two in the coming days.
Nani’s unfortunate week continued as well, after his unfair red card in the CL, this time he wobbled off just before half time, and could well be out for a couple of weeks if his injury is more serious. Looks like SAF is running out of ideas to beat high class oppositions these days…
