Spain’s dominance in international football looks to continue for some more years, as the young ones are following in the steps of their elders in conquering the titles one after the other. La Rojita, as they are nicknamed, are rising even beyond expectations for many, as they follow in the displays with the same fluid and attractive football which La Roja and Barcelona provide us usually, and among the ranks of the Rojita is one named Thiago Alcantara, who is already attracting the big clubs around Europe vying for his signature if he’s ready to leave Barcelona. Thiago scored a hat-trick earlier today, and was the mastermind of the midfield as La Rojita rather easily saw off Italy’s U21 on a 4-2 scoreline, with Isco the other scorer for Spain, while Immobile and Borini struck for the Italians. Spain were in control for most of the game, while Italy were proceeding more on counter-attacks and long balls.
De Gea however could not keep the cleansheet which would have seen Spain create a record of not conceding, as first Immobile lobbed him for the equalizer at 1-1, then he could not stop the powerful drive from Borini in the closing stages of the match, however by that time Spain were in control and within reach of retaining their trophy, and making it their 4th U21 Championship trophy.
