Manchester United messed it up for Moyes’ first official game with them, as the Red Devils lost 1-0 to an All Star XI side in Bangkok earlier today, with Teeratep Winothai scoring on the 50th minute for the All Star team. Although we know that friendly games’ results are not that important, and with many key players missing in this game, including Rooney who returned home after the first day in Bangkok itself, with a hamstring injury, it was still an unexpected result for United.
Moyes must be raging inside, given he had high hopes for his maiden game, and we normally say that the first impression is always the last one, and with this start it does confirm my fears on the team’s forthcoming performances in the league. However there are some promises in the rising talents, with the likes of Adnan Januzaj and Wilfred Zaha impressing in the game, while Giggs graced us with yet another good run in the team. Next stop will now be in Sydney, where United will play on the 20th, and let’s hope they start kicking into life from thereon…
