AON Tour 2013: Manchester United taken down in Yokohama

AON Yokohama 2013

The preseason woes continued for Manchester United, as this time they failed to live up to expectations in Japan, where Kagawa was welcomed as a hero by the spectators, but in the end it was Japanese team Yokohama F.Marinos which took all the limelight, as they saw off United on a 3-2 scoreline. United were down with only 30 seconds played, as Marquinhos found the net, but Lingard equalized for United the 19th minute, then United were 1-2 up on the 31st minute when Tashiro could do nothing about the ball punched towards him by his keeper. However, despite having RvP and others, United could not build up further on the lead, and instead the Japanese team equalized in the second half through Aguiar on the 49th minute, and Fujita dealt the fatal blow on the 87th minute to leave United with a second defeat in 3 games already.

United’s line-up:

De Gea; Fabio, Jones, Evans (Smalling 67), Evra; Anderson, Zaha (Giggs 78), Cleverley, Lingard (Young 46), Januzaj (Kagawa 62); van Persie (Welbeck 46)
