The Chosen One and The Special One neutralize each other

waynerooneyshotvcfc20130826_576x324The most boring draw between Manchester United and Chelsea, with a surprise in Rooney playing the whole game, while both attacks were “toothless” throughout the game as no goals were scored. This is how we can summarize this much awaited clash between these two teams. Much more was expected in this particular game for The Chosen One, Moyes, and The Special One, newly baptized as The Happy One by himself, Mourinho, as these two have an exciting battle in the form of Rooney’s transfer saga, but a very boring one on the pitch however, as both goalkeepers could have taken the day off, hardly were they troubled. Chelsea can thank their luck however, as two penalties could have gone against them for handballs in the box, while United were lucky not to concede one as well as Jones and Cole came together at the other end, but with Cole doing the most in an attempt to get a penalty. RvP was a shadow of himself with only one shot wide off target in the first half, while Rooney had about 2 tame attempts as well saved by Cech, and at the other end only Oscar was proving to be a handful on a couple of times, but not really troubling De Gea. The tactical battle set out by both managers finally cancelled out each other as the teams shared the points, and Chelsea regained their top position temporarily in the league table, with 7 points, while United are on 4 points, but with one game less than the Blues. The only question still in mind however is whether Rooney will stay or not at the club, but the fans still love him as they chanted his name every time he tried something for United during the game.
