Out of the FA Cup!!! United continued their bad start for 2014, as after losing to Tottenham in the EPL in midweek, a little earlier today United took the exit door from the FA Cup, as Swansea came to stun them at Old Trafford on a 1-2 scoreline, piling on some more miseries on the United faithfuls. Despite making a bright start, United were a goal down on the 12th minute as Routledge lobbed Lindegaard for the opener. However, United responded 4 minutes later, as Buttner’s cross was met on the volley by Chicharito for the equalizer. But despite having more of the ball, United failed to create clear scoring chances, and eventually, paid dearly in the second half, first by losing Ferdinand to injury, then losing his replacement Fabio to a red card only some minutes after coming on for the former. United tried to hold on to a draw for a replay, but Bony had other ideas and rose to head in Routledge’s cross on the 90th minute to end all hopes for United, and send some despair across the red half of Manchester as the FA Cup dream ends abruptly, and with the EPL title race also over for them, it does seem only the Capital One Cup is on for United, provided they do not get dumped out in this one as well, since the other cup they are still in is the Champions League, and again we should not expect any miracle from them there given the quality of the teams competing.
