Manchester United and David Moyes have been completely disillusioned today, as the Red Devils got back to their bad habits and conceded their 8th Premier League defeat to Stoke. Despite starting with RvP, Rooney and Mata, United failed to really bother Stoke’s back line in the first half, and instead conceded a goal via Adam’s deflected freekick on the 38th minute. Mata was inefficient as he was played on the right wing replacing Valencia, and proved his real worth only when he drifted in the center, but very rarely doing so, and the evidence being on the 47th minute as he found RvP in the box for the equalizer. However, United were caught out again on the 52nd minute, as Adam’s long range effort flew into the left corner. United tried to rally back, but despite having all the attackers on, they failed to create clear chances to score, and had to bow down in the end as Stoke claimed a very well earned win. To pile on the miseries, United had two defenders off with injuries, namely Evans and Jones, the latter being KO’ed after an awkward landing. The European spot seems like a far fetched dream already for United, as they still have to face teams like Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool, and could well end up battered from these games.
