Vidic was back to face Manchester United in Inter’s colors, as United took on Inter Milan for their 3rd tour game, their 2nd for the International Champions Cup at the FedEx Field stadium. United were sporting their new blue kit for the first time since they started the Tour 2014. Despite playing some neat football, both teams however struggled to get a goal past one another in normal time, and the match was eventually decided on penalties.
United converted all 5 of theirs, while Inter could only fire 3 past De Gea. United now top the “group” of this mini-tournament, with 5 points earned (3 for the win against AS Roma, and 2 following the penalty-shootout, while the new boss seemed rather pleased with the win, although he stated that there’s no quick fix to the team, and he’s hoping to make them play better football in the coming weeks. Next stop will be against Real Madrid on the 2nd of August (KO 21.06 BST).
