Daley Blind rescues point for Red Devils

MUFC-WBAIt can be called a blind faith by LVG for signing Daley Blind from Ajax, but the player rescued his manager and team from a third defeat which was looming for a long time in the match, as he netted his first goal for United to bring a precious point back home from The Hawthorns stadium. United’s defense however is still not up to the level, despite Jones being back in the team, as the Red Devils were caught twice from quick counters by West Brom, and both times the ball ended up in the net, with De Gea having barely a save to make during the match. Stephane Sessegnon scored for the hosts on the 8th minute with a well taken first time beauty following a quick counter led by Wisdom which exposed United’s backline weaknesses once again. United did take possession of the ball as the first half wore on, but barely threatened West Brom’s keeper, with RvP being more like a shadow of himself on the pitch as he took on the solo striker role.

LVG must have been gutted by what he had seen so far, and sent on Fellaini for Herrera as the second half started, and the midfielder repaid his manager’s faith almost immediately, as he fired in a shot into the roof of the net on the 48th minute to equalise. However, United’s defensive problems were not up yet, as Berahino was left forgotten by the defenders, and with his incredible pace rushed on to a pass by Brunt to coolly finish past De Gea, with what looked like a challenge in fact to United’s keeper, as Berahino opened his right foot to show the keeper where he was going to shoot, and challenge him to try save the shot. While it seemed that defeat was almost a certainty, up popped Blind to curl home a loose ball which West Brom’s defense failed to deal with properly on the 87th minute to salvage a point. However, a more deadlier match awaits the Red Devils for the coming weekend, as they will be up against the Blues of Chelsea, unbeaten so far, and playing a more composed football than United, and not to forget a player named Diego Costa who has been setting up a phenomenal display already, and if he’s back from injury, he’ll surely create a big chaos in United’s experimental defense.
