After winning 3 matches in a row, the Red Devils were soundly defeated today by French champions PSG in the final match of the ICC on a 0-2 scoreline, a match which also brought to an end their US Tour. Both teams fielded a strong line-up for this game, and De Gea got his second call in the Tour games, and nearly gifted Ibrahimovic the opener on the 2nd minute, but the latter wasted the chance presented to him. United were struggling at the back, and PSG deservedly scored on the 25th minute through Matuidi. United were caught once again on the 34th minute, and Ibrahimovic added his name on the scoresheet, while Depay was the only one who came closest for United at the other end, but PSG held on. The half time changes brought by LVG saw United play better, but yet failing to create any goal-scoring chances. Sabaly at the other end could have scored a third for PSG, but flashed his shot wide. PSG eventually went on to win the game, and winning the ICC in the process as well, with 1 point clear off United in this tournament. With United’s defense exposed, it does seem that LVG need to either find better training tactics for the lads, else invest in world class ones who can keep the backdoor close in big games.
