No goals scored for a third consecutive game, and only 1 shot on target earlier today, United’s stats must be making teams even in the lower divisions burst out laughing, such boring their football has become these days. Crystal Palace were unlucky not to claim all 3 points today, while United were lucky to claim the 1 point in the end, as Palace created more dangerous chances, with Bolasie rattling the crossbar, and De Gea saving from Dann in the early stages of the game. United’s only meaningful threat came from a freekick on the 25th minute, but Rooney’s shot was calmly collected by the opposition keeper. Palace kept on the pressure in the second half with Cabaye missing a glorious opportunity to score, then Dann looping a header just wide of the post. De Gea was then called into action by Gayle’s powerful shot, before Bolasie powered a header just over the bar in the closing minutes as the Red Devils failed to create create anything meaningful of their own, and were kept pegged back for most of the second half by a valiant Palace side looking for a victory. With CSKA Moscow visiting the Red Devils on the 3rd of November, let’s all hope that they do find their scoring boots in the meantime, else it may well spell the end of United’s journey in the CL as well.
