A taste of “horny and sexy” football

MUFC-MidtjyllandLouis Van Gaal recently stated he wanted his players to be “horny” and play a “sexy” football ahead of the return leg against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League, and his desires have been partly fulfilled today, despite missing key players due to injuries, but helped by a bunch of “horny” youngsters, which included an unlikely hero for the Red Devils, 18-year old Marcus Rashford, who scored a double for his first game with the first team. Rashford, initially selected as a sub, came in the first team after Martial picked up an injury during warm-up, and took up the role brilliantly with 2 clinical finishes in the second half to show he is deadly in front of goal too.

United had plenty of possession in the first half, with Memphis looking more lively than we previously saw him, along with youngsters Riley and Varela who made incessant attacking runs on their flanks from the back, but it was FC Midtjylland which gave the Red Devils a lethal blow with their first attack on the 28th minute, where Sisto slalomed his way past Blind and Carrick to fire past Romero for the opener, sending the travelling fans in ecstasy, while the home crowd was silenced. However United were leveled five minutes later, as Bodurov turned Memphis’ attempted cross into his own net. From thereon, United piled up the pressure on them, but without being able to score, with Mata seeing his tame penalty saved by the opposition keeper, thus leaving both teams leveled at 1-1 on the night for the first half, but FC Midtjylland being qualified at that point in time on a 2-3 aggregate.

The “horny and sexy” show took about 18 minutes in the second half to start, with Mata redeeming himself by gifting Rashford his first goal with the Red Devils on the 63rd minute, United’s second of the night. At that point, it was all squared up, but Rashford was not done yet, as on the 75th minute he was on the scoresheet again. Varela fed him with a beautiful cross at the far post, and he finished calmly to give United a 3-1 lead for the night. United continued to control the game, and were awarded a second penalty following a hand-ball by a defender from Memphis’ shot. This time Herrera stepped by, and dispatched a powerful shot wrong-footing the goalkeeper in the process to give United a 4-1 lead on the 87th minute. After a phenomenal display throughout the game, Memphis then got himself in the goal-fest on the 90th minute, as he struck home from the edge of the box to make it 5-1 for the night, 6-3 on aggregate. A more tougher game awaits however on Sunday, as the Gunners, chasing the league title, will visit the Red Devils, and it will be a real test for Van Gaal’s “horny and sexy” football wish then.
