Eric Bertrand Bailly joins the Red Devils

Eric Bertrand BaillyIvory Coast central defender, Eric Bertrand Bailly, became José Mourinho’s first signing at Manchester United today after completing his transfer from Villareal CF, with a fee in the region of £30M. The 22-year old has signed a 4-year deal with the club, with the possibility of an additional 2-year extension. Bailly has made 47 appearances with Villareal CF, along with 15 appearances for his country.

Extract of Bailey’s and Mourinho’s respective interviews are as follows:

Bailly: “It is a dream come true to be joining Manchester United. To play football at the highest level is all I have ever wanted to do. I want to progress to be the best that I can be and I believe working with Jose Mourinho will help me develop in the right way and at the right club.
