Tour 2017: Red Devils back to winning ways

After their narrow defeat against Barcelona in the ICC tournament held in the US, the Red Devils were back in Europe to continue their Tour 2017 friendlies, and made light work in Oslo against Valerenga as they got back to winning ways.

As expected, United dictated the play, with Pogba going close, but the game became nearly lifeless as the half wore on, with Valerenga setting up a compact defense to keep out the Red Devils. While it looked like ending in a goalless first half, up popped Fellaini to head in Mkhitaryan’s cross on the 44th minute to give the Red Devils a deserved lead.

Mourinho proceeded with 9 changes at half-time, and new entrant Lukaku scored two minutes after the restart, as he jumped tallest to lead in Pereira’s corner kick. McTominay was introduced on the hour mark, and ten minutes later he scored his first senior goal with the Red Devils, as he collected Martial’s deflected pass to finish off from 6-yards. United’s last friendly game will be held in Dublin against Sampdoria on Wednesday to conclude a convincing pre-season tour.
