After a hard fought win in the CL group, the Red Devils slipped again in the Premier League against Everton as they could only manage a 1-1 draw, with an angry Ronaldo storming off at the final whistle.
Ronaldo was left on the bench as Cavani and Martial were given a start. United looked lively thou with Bruno orchestrating the midfield, and Cavani as usual giving his best to harass the defenders. Everton were threatening on counters and De Gea even had to produce a save to keep them out. United were in control thou, and a brilliant link-up between Greenwood and Bruno allowed the latter to find Martial in the box, and the striker finished the move in style on the 43rd minute.
The second half saw Ronaldo and Sancho coming on, but United seemed to lose their attacking impact as the game wore on, as the play seemed to focus on Ronaldo. A corner kick defended at the other end saw Gray burst his way into United’s half to find Doucoure, and the latter found Townsend unmarked to leave De Gea without any reaction on the 65th minute. United were lucky to escape a late goal as Mina was found to be offside late on by VAR. United had to share the spoils much to the dismay of the fans as the chance to go top was missed again.
